Did the Henry Ford/Adolf Hilter mutual appreciation era damage the Ford Motor Company?

Apparently not, since when we got into the war Ford pledged complete support for the war effort and got several war dept. contracts. From what I've read, Henry Ford distanced himself from Hitler and the nazis after their invasion of Poland and the start of the war.
