How to get puppy to not poo on cement and wooden patio...?

one of my dogs used to do that. she would go on our front porch though. i had to take her out to a specific place in our yard and stay there with her until she went, then give her a treat right afterwards. after a few times of me taking her to her spot in the yard, she would go there automatically even if i wasnt right there with her.
