Help! I want to do an english degree.. but eventually want to go into the world of finance.?

I know it sounds odd, but I've always been interested in Economics. However, i feel the STUDY of economics will be very dry as opposed to the exploration and discovery i can experiance for an English degree. How can i follow my dream of working in a bank/financial sector after i graduate with an English degree?
