Uncontrollable puking?

Has anyone ever experienced totally out of control puking before? A couple of days ago, my friends and I were going down the walk towards our intended movie store, and I suddenly stopped dead in my tracks. I had a really strange feeling, like as if my stomach was ever so gently crawling up my throat. At least, that's how it began. A short moment later I lost control of everything except my mind. I hunched over, feeling as if i were in a room with 360 degree gravity and my body being unzipped. What happened next was an unhinging, blood curdling yell/scream, followed by nothingness. I wanted to tell my friends that i had no idea what was happening, but suddenly i was overtaken with an involuntary lung full of air, which was expelled just as unwillingly as it was taken. This time the air coming out was wetter. I launched my stomach contents a good twenty feet. I continued this involuntary heaving and launching for at least a minute. I couldn't breathe how i wanted. I couldn't stop. I nearly fainted afterward because i was so light headed. I felt great directly after despite the vomit i tasted. It happened so fast. I don't recall eating anything strange or feeling under par at all prior. Nor do i remember feeling anything but great after. What could cause this random spew?
